Yep, square bits will work with those, my MTI also has them. I needed to remove them the other day to put up a mural. You use a #2 square drive.

Thanks guys. I just pulled a square drive bit from a Kreg jig set. That's probably the only bit I didn't try . Now to find the rattling sound.

I purchased this trailer a couple of weeks ago. A local printer did the vinyl graphic for me from files that I emailed them. The shelf is sitting on cleats bolted to the sidewalls if I ever want to remove them. They are secured with a block and screw at the corners. I went with a tall trailer (78" so I could put the wing rack on the top. I can hold 8 wings in the rack, and 6 1/4 fuses on the top and bottom. The front has room for several smaller planes to hang from the walls. I also carry a spare tire, my fold out sun canopy, a flightbox, toolbox and misc. I really like this trailer.

Looks good Prop Nut. Your wife is kind. I couldn't post what my wife calls me in these forums. It would be deleted by the moderator .

These screws aren't square bit. I think they're made exclusive for Haumark. They are used everywhere on the outside of the trailer. The only place they aren't used is on the cam lock bar mountings and the hinge plates. For those big screws they use security torx screws with the pin in the middle. That bit I have which came with a ten dollar security bit set. That is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I can't find a bit that will let me take the aluminum extrusions or siding off the trailer but for ten bucks, I can buy a bit set that will let me remove the entire locking mechanism off or the doors themselves and get me into the trailer . Here's a pic of the screws they use all over.

Marty

That looks like a Torx. I have them all over my trailer also. I had one coming out so I took it with me to Sears and found a screw driver or Torx driver to fit. Every once in awhile I go around the sides of the trailer and tighten a few up.

I just washed and waxed my trailer last week and those screws are a pain to wash around .

Well the square drive that Iflyit and Prop nut suggested works fine and I'm glad I asked cause I'm not sure I would have ever tried a square bit. I probably would have eventually called my Haulmark dealer and he would have told me.

Unfortunately, after being a 25 year long customer of Sears for tools, appliances and clothes, I can no longer shop there or K mart. The last six months have been a nightmare and I'll leave it with this statement. If you have an appliance purchased there, pray that you didn't get a lemon and have to use their appliance service more than once. I've sat at home for seven days in the last six months and twice they didn't even show up but kept me hanging on till the end of the day and the appliance still doesn't work. Next time, I'll spend more at the little appliance store and get better service for sure. sorry I had to vent. Evertime someone mentions the S word, I get a little hot under the collar.

Marty

Gettin mine in a few days. For the none electrical minded type, I was thinking of maybe 3-4 deep cycle marine 125 amp hour batteries in paralell, i was thinking of running chargers, a laptop, maybe a dvd player to keep kids busy. What kind of lights should i use for inside 12v for workbench area and general light? What about cabinets, anyone have any good ideas for them.

N21 - To run any 110volt appliances you will need a inverter. Better to stick to 12volt lighting to make things easier to wire. If you are looking at major power (400+ amps) you should consider doing two six volt golf cart batteries instead of the 4 12volt you have suggested. If you look at the amp hour rating of the 6 volt deep cycle you will see they are much higher than your standard 12 volt deep cycle. Put two six volt in series and you will have more amp hours available with far less battery footprint taking up valuable space.
I'm currently finishing my trailer and considering using the six volt also although I'm not sure I really need that many amp hours.
Thanks, Jerry.

Lowes carries very sturdy cabinets by Coleman. I put them in mine and love them. I have two 12 volt lights that came with the trailer and I also installed those touch lights powered by a nine volt cell under my shelf. The touch lights are useless and are going to be replaced. I have a 12 volt 100 amp hour battery in mine and it is more than adequate for charging planes and field equipment. If you are going to run a DVD player, check how many amps it draws, and how long you want to play it. The kids should be watching the PLANES!!!
