With the cost of gasoline/diesel these days, I don't know how you all are dragging those trailers down the road. I am looking for a very small trailer that can be pulled behind a small car like a Toyota Corolla. Anybody here have any knowledge of small trailers?

These gas prices make it way too expensive to go to work. Ah, flying, never a problem.

If I have to worry about the gas I use to get to the flying field I shouldn't be in the hobby.

As the Blonde said: "I don't worry about gas prices. I only put $20"

Well, we will see just how much money some you have over the next couple of years. Fuel prices have just started the accent and it may get to the point that it could cost hundreds to pull these trailers down the road. Some people I know are already spending hundreds each week. It would take a hundred or more to top of my tank now.

If it gets to the point I can't afford to drive to the flying field because I use a trailer is the day I'll be selling everything I own related to the hobby. Now I might be less inclined to go to the flying field several times a week and instead go for a long single day. Given the fact I pass the flying field on my way to and from work makes that possibility very slim. As a percentage of my income, gas is much cheaper today than it was in the 80's.

There is alternatives. I tow my trailer with a honda civic and still get over 30mpg. Couldnt afford to use my F350 for flying anymore. This has worked pretty well for about 2 years now.

I've been quietly reading this thread for a while as I'm in the market for a dual purpose trailer to haul my bikes and to haul my RC stuff.

But I have to agree 100% with this statement: It also applies to my "other" hobby: motorcycles.

So can we drop the gas price issues and go back to trailer customizing and layout?

I'm picking up my trailer this weekend.

I noticed a lot if you guys are using bungee's to secure your planes. But, what are you mounting in the floor for the bungee's to attach to?

I use medium size D rings. Put em wherever you need them in a minute with two screws. I found a good deal here

That is a real good deal. Those things are usually $5.00 - $6.00 each.

I just picked up a 5X8 trailer. Had a little bit of time to start working on it. I used vertical E-Track for the shelves
and the top wing rack so they can be adjusted any time I want. I went with a deep cycle battery inside for the chargers.
I picked up a plug from the RV store that lets you plug a cord into it from the outside and installed an outlet on the inside of the trailer
for the battery charger(see Pictures). D rings for the hold downs and either velcro or bungee's to hold the plane down.
Don't mind the mess inside I have limited time to work on it with the 3 little ones, baseball games, dance reciteles, work and
of course FLYING.
