Status: offline 		Since I just purchased a 6X12 V-nose, iI thought it was time for me to pay attention to this thread.

You guys have done wonders, and I appreciate the ideas brought forth.

I haven't had it for 24 hours, so no progress has been made, other than installing a hitch on my truck.

Using ideas posted here, I hope to get started this afternoon.

I too got the bug and finally bought a trailer. (6 X 12) I was having to fly what I took to the field. Some days I was just not sure what I wanted to fly and it would be nice if I could just take them all and pick what I wanted to fly when at the field. (A Rolling Hanger if you will)

I looked at many ideas and came up with what I feel is a great idea for getting my flying planes to the field.

The first thing I did was to paint the walls / floor and insulate the ceiling. Insulation was the Blue Foam placed between the roof framing. I foil taped all the joints to seal them. Then I covered the insulation with coraplast. (4X8 sheets of sign material) Then I put slotted brackets on all the vertical channels on both sides of the trailer. Then I drilled 2 holes in all of the shelf brackets as mounting points for saddles. I used some 1/2" plastic sheet material and cut saddles for my wings and fuselages. I lined the saddles with 1/2" strips I cut from a camping pad I bought at walmart. I glued the stripes with Goop glue. I hold the wings and fuselages to the saddles using (ready for this) sheet straps from the bedding department at walmart. I have made the saddles so that the straps fits them all and can be replaced in 5 seconds. (It just clips on a screw that has been covered with a short pc of fuel tubing. I should add that the rear of the 2 jets need a longer strap so I culled a few straps and made longer ones for both jets. I also made a few extras. Later, if I find the strap budgie losses it's hold, I will use the clips and add Velcro with a pc of foam between it and the model. (I may do this anyway)

At this point I have 11 planes hanging inside my trailer and have another one on the way for a total of 12. I also have a large charging area for charging batteries. The front wall is open still so there is room for a few more. The best part of this system is that I can get to any plane without having to move another one.

Note I made the saddles from 1/2" plastic sheet. I would think BC Plywood could also be used as well.

I spent my day installing peel and stick floor tiles. My neighbor suggested that I buy them at Dollar General. A 30 sq ft package costs $11.00, so the total cost of the project was $33.00. Not bad.

No pics, as of yet. Just as I was finishing up, a thunder storm rolled through. I closed up the trailer, and headed for cover. LOL

My next project will be to carpet the access ramp.

Status: offline 		Are you sick & tired of the stains on the sides of your trailer? I was! So I came up with this easy idea. I put mini evestroughs on the sides of the trailer and it works very well.
I just used "J" channel (used for vinyl siding.) You can purchase it at any big box store or vinyl siding store. I then cut the nail slot off and then screwed them to the sides of the trailer as close as I could get it to the existing drip rail. It would actually slip up underneath the drip rail just a little bit.

that comes stock. It looks like your modification would certainly cure
that problem....

Status: offline 		I like the eaves troughs idea.

I now have enough D-Rings mounted on my floor, to handle alost any tie down configuration desired.

Carpeting has been installed on the ramp, provideing a slip free surface to gain access to the trailer.

Insulation has been added to the ceiling. Hopefully, it will help to keep the interior temps, down.

The dealership sold me the D-rings for a dollar a piece, so I figured I may as well install a lot of them. They'll come in handy when the time comes.

I installed the ceiling, yesterday, along with cradles to hold a couple more fuselages. After I do some cleanup, I'll post a pic.

You may be right about people wanting to borrow it, but I'll keep the traile
