The original Sledge didn't have the balances on the ends of the elevators, just straight with the hinge line. Then Jeff came out with an addendum to the plans to show the new style elevators. I was thinking the new Sledge plans have the counter balances on the plans, but I haven't unrolled my plans to look.

First kits did not have CB elevators.
Newer kits do.

I dont know when they switched exactly but if you have a newer kit the plans are CB'ed for the Elevators.

Pretty close to being finished with the fuse. A little more sheeting and sanding and the fuse will be done. I'll probably get that done and glue in mable motor mounts and the ply doublers. Then on to the control surfaces. This kit goes together very quickly. I havn't put a lot of time in on it this week. If some one wanted to have a plane in the air quick this is the kit. If you stick with it every night for a couple of weeks it would be finished.

I mounted the throttle servo upright. I fabricated a wood mount. Servo is easy to get to and pushrod has good clearance. My elevator and rudder servos are in the opposite bay. I didn't have to add any weight for lateral balance.

Fuse is basicaly done accept for a bit more sanding to get it ready for covering. I've always wanted to try the Pearl UltraCote colors. I orderd some dark yellow and blue from my LHS today. It should be here next week. I should be ready for covering this week.

Horizontal stab and elevator are complete. I'm now working on the vertical stab and rudder which will be followed by the ailerons. Its going together quickly now.

Landing gear installed. I purchased a set of the yellow carbon gear from Morris. Nice gear. I also have a set of Krazy Legs which I like too.
