I'm sure that all of you 1.50 size mustang owners have seen tons of these posts, so here's another. My friend just bought the 1.50 mustang and he brought it out to the field this past weekend to run the engine. We tinkered with his engine for an hour or so, and he soon thereafter decided to pack up and go home. When he tried to retract his gear, the gear wouldn't go back into the wheel wells because the gear had bent forward while sitting on the ground. The wheels were actually what was keeping the gear from going up all the way. This to me seems like a damn shame! Just from the appearance of the gear, they seem to be super strong, but evidently not. I see no reason why the gear should bend while just setting on the ground. Sure, we put a little weight on the plane while trying to crank it several times while tuning the engine, but come on, should the gear bend that easily? Sruts are out of the question, simply because they cost too much and also because Hangar 9 should include gear with their planes that wont bend. What does he need to do to keep this from happening again? He will probably have to take the gear out of the plane to get the gear bent back straight enough to go all the way back up. This in itself is very much a pain in the ass and seems very uncalled for. It's a spanking new plane that he hasn't even completed 100% and he is already having to repair it. Seems like poor quality to me. The overall quality seems pretty good, so why did Hangar 9 cut corners when it comes to the gear. I mean, for $499.00, they should ship a little Chinese man along with it to put it together for you.
