My new Thunder Tiger .91 FS says use a fuel with a 20% oil content or more and less than 15% Nitro for break-in purposes. I've never seen such an oily fuel anywhere unless it has at least 20% or greater Nitro content.

I have the Pink Cool Power and I have the PowerMaster...both I believe are around 17% oil content. Should I go buy some castrol oil and simply "beef-up" the oil content after the fact for the first tank or two...???? I would rather be safe than sorry.

Powermaster is one company that makes a suitable fuel. Either their GMA 5/22 or 10/22 would be fine. It's marketed as a CL fuel because CL fliers have always used more oil than most RC guys. http://www.powermasterfuels.com/control.htm

Sig also have high oil content fuels but there's nothing wrong with adding extra castor to what you have now, especially for running in.

Cooper's Custom Fuels has a standard 20% oil content. You can get it in a wide range of nitro contents, but I would still use 15% nitro on break-in. You'll get a much better idle with the extra bit of nitro, and it will not hurt your engine. Look up "Fuelman" here on RCU and shoot him an Email. His name is actually Brian, and he'll be able to help you with getting the fuel you need.

You might want to try the Powermaster GBI (Golden Break-in) fuel for breaking in your new engine. It was formulated by Stu Richmond and is used in all of his flying and not just in break in. He and many others swear by it.

I just added about 5% of oil to some of that Pink stuff and it seems to be ok...
