The directions that came w/ my car.(1/5th scale Yankee) says I should use leaded gasoline. Instead of buying lead and adding it to the fuel... can I somehow use unleaded gas?(mixed w/oil of course)

You mentioned that this was an older car. Perhaps these are just dated instructions.

The only reason for lead in gasoline was to lubricate the valve seats and prevent galling, erosion.

You should be able to run today's unleaded gas with no problems.

If you are concerned, there are additives that replace the leaded effect with more acceptable chemicals. It's used by guys that run muscle cars from the 60s and 70s.

I wouldnt worry about it. I've never heard of anyone using leaded fuel in any of those cars. These cars use engines that are basically weedwacker motors and should have no problems with unleaded fuel.

any ideas on fuel oil mixture? The car only has 20 minutes on it and I still have to break it in.

On the zenoahs and solos everyone runs between 25:1 and 40:1
IMHO 40:1 is way too "lean" of a mixture. I'd go with the 25:1 if you can without fouling spark plugs too much. If not then go to the 32:1.
