how cool would they look especially oversized
and how cool would they be in snow

Status: offline 		that would be very cool, but i'd prefer my maxx to have tracks that were longer like the kyosho blizzard. It'd be hard to turn though.

Status: offline 		long tracks use a completely different turning system/transmittion/suspension, where as these tracks use the existing truck setup and so are relatively very easy to change to (and back to tires from).

Status: offline 		You guys mean something like these? This guy is actually on a Savage forum a lot and he is considering making these. He's projecting the price to be in the $800 range. Ouch!!


Heres a link to his site. These tracks are called sandtraxx. He also has some very nice alum. wheels,spinners and knockoffs.Ramtech RC

Status: offline 		Hi guys, the Sandtraxx has been running as a prototype for a few months. But, they are using the old Tyco NitroDozer tracks. That is only 1" wide, so it looks a little odd. I am waiting for some better feedback from people who may want it, to start a real production run. The problem is getting a 3"wide track

Nodolarsnonsense, why do you think it wouldn't work?? It works on full size and ATV already.

Status: offline 		does the real blue cog/ belt have some sort of teeth to transmitt power to the belt so that the the blue wheel doesnt just slip (even though there is a lot of surface contact). especially as the track will not work as well with the belt pulled really tight on the cogs.
also with no teeth gripping the track how it is in the picture you i think it would be easy to loose the belt too as there is nothing to cause it to want to stay on ie to align it.

one possible "theory"
if the drive cog was made of 3 parts, ie 2 washer style shapes and one gear with the gear wedged between the 2 washers. and the belt had small paddle teeth down the inner centre this would give the power transfer, allow for a loose track and automatically keep the track aligned. the bottom cogs would need to be altered to acomodate the track etc etc. the cost and getting a belt may inhibit though

if you have tested your design and it works then i suppose it works, but with some design changes i think it could work better.

Status: offline 		Good to see you stop by Ram. Youy musta had some radar and seen me post those.lol. Old crzy has about got me talked into a set of those Iron Cross rims like he got. Those things turned out very nice. Ever decide whether or not you're gonna run the 40 series vipers? Those looked super nice!
