At $500 w/o motor or electrics, it is still a sweet bike...for looking at only. Can you imagine the damage if you had a spill? Drag bikes need to be a little tougher. Don't get me wrong, I would buy one in a heartbeat, but not to put on the strips.

Hate to say it but i have seen guys do $400+ damage to a R/C car. Have you ever watched a R/C plane take a dirt nap... if its a nice one your lucky to get away with
$400 in damage. I saw a SuperNitro Rs4 clocked at 100mph go for a bit of road rash..
it didn't look like a cheap fix.

Heh.. my wifes car was parked and a crazed lady backed into it BAM! $1200 damage.

My cousin jumped over his dog and broke his leg BAM!!! $30k in medical bills, spiral
fracture of the lower leg. Now he has a $30k 12 " titanium rod in his leg.

The bike looks well built.... Take a look at that rear tire.... its Built for speed!!!

The Pumilio Tiempo is $695 EUROs + shipping + (taxes & customs duties) find a Euro to Dollar converter. It has no motor or electronics.

Heres a Link: http://www.pumilio.fi/eb_main.html

tuscon, the rear of the bike looks well built. I was more or less speaking of a front-end impact. I'm sure the bike would fly. I'm not knocking the bike for it's price or speed. Just the cost every time someone impacted the front.

Hey, that's nice. Kind of the same approach I have exept I had planned on using music wire (to stiff to work with). I think an 1/8 inch mild steel rod will be fine though. Two stroke for me! What did you use for the tank and rear fender?

The Tank and Fenders are fiberglass(no glass cloth) I shaped a piece of Styrofoam and coated it with 5 min Epoxy, mix alcohol with it to slow down the cure and thin it out a bit, apply with paint brush. Then, I go over that with 2 part fiberglass from Home Depot. After you get the shape and sand it smooth, pour lacquer thinner on the foam plug and it will dissolve away!
Don't put the fiberglass directly on the Styrofoam, it will eat it, use 1 coat of 5 min epoxy first.
If you sand and prep well you can get a mirror finish using regular model spray paint
I am looking for info on geometry for the fron end...trail, offset.....

What size brake tubing did you use? The tubing is probably easier to work with, right?

I found a site on the geomerty for the front forks.. Let me look around I'm sure i can find it again.

Thanks for the info on the Glassing technique.... It will come in handy for building other items as well.

Your setup is still very nice. From the looks though you wont be able to change the angle
on the head bracket that you have already brazed in.

From the pictures the turning radius wouldnt be too large due to the angle you have.
Think of it this way... Like the chopper the longer the forks or wider the angle the greater the turning radius. The wheel leans more than turning

Of course a smaller angle and a quick servo would flip the bike
end over end at high speed.. which is evident if you look at the wheelie vid. The driver over corrects the steering lets off the throttle and a few good bounces before its
road rash is over.

I went with about 30 degrees on the head, but increased that a little with the triple clamps. This gave me about 1/2" of trail. As far as tight turn radius' I don't plan on racing with this bike(prototype) but if it does not turn well at all I will attach wheelie bars and a big ass motor for drag racing!! (or build an airplane lol)

Evanspa, I saw one time at R/C WRAM show in N.Y. Aguy that makes 1/4 scale Harley Engines. did you ever hear of them? The guy started it up too. It was exactly like a full size Harley. Sounded soooo good! And was like an exact replica.
