Hi Guys,

Does anyone knows what should be the initial C.G. (maiden flight) in the last version ? I found few threads discussing C.G. in old versions, but the wing location in this version is different (I think 1 inch backwards).

Thanks,
yanival.

I'm building what I believe to be the latest version (four screw canopy tray). The instruction say to start at 5.75 and work back to 6.00 inches. I'm using a 1.60FX and a single elevator servo with pull-pull and I will probably be right at 6.00 to 6.25 inches without ballast. If I had dual elevator servos in the tail, I'd be in big trouble with balance.

I have seen what the manual says, but given Dave Patrick Models reputation, I do no trust it (they might have forgot to change it from previous version manual, not test it, etc.). I want to hear someones experiance before taking any chances with that big bird.

I have 50cc engine at the front, so tail servos help balancing.

I see your point. He used to have some info about CG on the web site. That info has now been "dumbed down" to the point of uselessness. I'll probably start at 6.00 inches.

Good luck

Have the DP Extra version 3 with DA50 Mezjlik 23 x 8. Servos are in stock location and weight is 15.2 lbs. Only mod is Ohio Superstar Haigh tail wheel for up to 22 lbs. CG came in at 5 5/8" and flies very well. Have at least 20 flights on it this way and can do all 3D.

I'm working my way back to 5 3/4 and from there who knows.

Good luck.
