I built this plane back in the mid 1980's when I was in high school, scaling the plans right out of the magazine (Dec 1975). I got ONE lousy flight (ended in a crash) and that was that...

So it was allways in the back of my mind, being such a cute little plane. I eventually ordered the plans from RCM and shelved them. Finally I am ready this winter to build this plane. I cant wait!

Has anyone built this one before??

No, but it should work fine. It reminds me of a modernized Curtis Wright Jr.
Would you use a Cox 049 reedy running backwards?

Dont know yet. I may go for a Medallian 049 I have with a throttle sleeve/muffler and a pusher prop or even one of my VA's. But I remember I had a Golden Bee on it originally. I think the Medallian will be a bit better, ie, more power than a reedy.

One of the guys round here built one last year. Flies great. He runs a Baby Bee or a Texaco on it from memory. Generally hand-launches it. There's a Scooter on my list to build as well, but maybe scaled up with a PAW 19 on it.
