Hi, I used Astroflight 110 DX charger/discharger to charg 4 AA Rechargeable battery. Here is the procedures I went through.

-1- Fourn brand new AA size 2100mAh Energizer rechargeable batteries are connected
using a plastic cartriage which can hold 4 AA batteries.

-2- Charged at C/10 rate (200mAh) for 7 hrs and charged in 1390mAh.

-3- Discharged at 1.25A and the discharge screen indicated that 1598mAh was drained.

-4- Charged at C/20 (100mAh) for 10 hours and charged in 1424mAh. Then the
charged shut down automatically after exactly 10 hours with a message says:
"timeout". What happened?

I really want to slow charge the 4 AA for 20 hours continuously to get them full charged.
What did I do wrong and what should I do to correct?

Any idea?

Thanks.

The 110D has a 10-hour limit when peak charging. The only way around this limit is to run the charger in test mode.

You can put the charger into test mode by pressing and holding the start button when you power up the charger. This mode is not generally useful for charging batteries because it does not peak detect.

Test mode has 3 phases.

The first test mode is a voltmeter. It does not charge.

The second mode is slow charge rate. No peak detect, no timeout.

The third mode is fast charge mode. No peak detect, no timeout. You will cook batteries if you leave them on charge in this mode.

Press start again and it reverts to normal mode.

Use this info as you see fit.
