I get my coro from a plastics distributor in Columbia S.C. They have a minimum order of $25, but I get three 4x8 sheets for $26. I,ll check with them and see if they ship. If they do, I'll post the phone number.

Early this year we had our local elections in Jacksonville Fla. There were some big spenders who had beautiful 4X8 coro election signs, but they lost. The local Fire Department would go around after the election and collect the signs. So the morning after the election, I had some sheets located and helped clean up the election mess! Now I have 8 sheets in the garage, time to build.

www.harborsales.net is the cheapest and most convienent source for coroplast that I have found. They will cut to most any size and ship it cheap.

The links on the Spad site, such as Harbor and Regal, are really inexpensive. It does break down to $5 a plane or so, and the coro comes in the color you choose, in both 4mm and 2mm, and it's fresh, which makes it a little easier to glue.

Yeh, those folks sell the coro cheaply but the shipping (which is not their fault) is expensive. But I hate UPS anyway...I think they are overpriced and slow. Its unbelievable that UPS gets $12-15 to haul a piece of plastic cardboard and take a whole week to do it.

Did you even bother looking? I thought someone used to ship for free or at least very cheap. Gee man there's cheap then there's well frugal. Spend the little bit and get some coro and stop wasting time posting about the high prices of the cheapest way to build an airplane.

Sheesh!!!

Its only cheap if you use your ingenuity to overcome cost. If you start out with $25 coroplast your half way to the price of duraplane and so why not buy duraplane. I called them -- yes, its $12 for the sheet and then $10-12 to ship it. Thats back at the local price....which is what I will pay if I can't get the local cocacola distributer down the road to give me a free sign.

if you buy $50.00 worth, cut to size, you get it shipped from Harbor for free.
If you want to buy a duraplane go ahead, but i suspect after you fly one, you'll realize why people build their own.

$50 worth of coroplast from Harbor (to get free shipping) at $12 a sheet = 4 sheets of coroplast. That's approximately 8-12 airplanes depending on what you build. You could build 24 Gnats. Yes, $50 is approaching the cost of a DuraPlane, but you only get one with no replacment parts.

Thanks....I will start shortly....I just finished a balsa that was half way done.

I think I have one other member in my club who is going to go in on a piece so that cuts the cost in half...

I found an old motor that might do the trick as well....if (big IF) I can get it running.

In case your in the So Cal Tri-County area, there's a place in hollywood, called Gavrieli that sells 4*8 sheets of Coro for:
colored $9.80, clear $12.80 These are 4mm sheets
http://www.gavrieli.com/products_corrugated.htm
The guy on the phone recommended Styrene for RC planes. It comes in tons of thicknesses, and is Less than $6 a sheet.
He said it was corrugated plastic, and very durable. Anybody tried this stuff?

STYRENE

Available in 4' * 8' sheets in the following thickness:

0.020" - 0.040" - 0.060" - 0.093" - 1 / 8" and 3 / 16"

18" * 24" * 0.060" & 24" * 36" * 0.093"
