I will do the same once I get back into ion or poly. No sense ruining $700 worth of stuff with a $40-50 battery. Good idea.

Hello Brett,
Do you have plans for this protective electronic device inside the box? I would sleep better when charging my pack with those stuff! Let me know how did you build it?

Daniel,

That's actually the charger in the box. It's a Potensky lithium specific charger. You set number, and type of cells, and charge rate with dip switches. I picked it up online at Radical RC for about $25. (The silver box is my 12V power source for the charger.)

And to think I paid 265 to have my Orbit just about down my house. What time does.

I take it from this topic that its save enough to usea li-ion battery. I have being looking around for a charger but all seem to be 12v? can you get a slow charger for these batteries?

1) Do you have to change the speed controller in the Potensky Eagle if you are using a li-ion battery?

2) Does the battery from the Speed controller step down the voltage for the reciever or do you need a separate battery pack for the receiver?

BTW am new to Electric flights. Trying to get away from the mess of glow engines
