if u r driving a streetforce, than u wont notice the difference. lol.

a boost bottle has minimal results if any on performance, but only comes into factor in a highly competitive track environment. for bashing fun, u will never notice the difference.

most racers wont notice either, until they are skilled enough to keep their lap times within .1-.5 seconds of each other

yeah dont waste the time on boost bottles, it adds alittle performance not enough to make the jaw drop. Although it allows myself to run the straight pipes.

during racing, when u let off the throttle, a small amount of fuel will continue to run into the carb, then - when you apply the gas again - the carb will load up, and take a second to clear its throat before accelerating.

A boost bottle, allows a place for this extra fuel to go, thus allowing quicker acceleration bursts when throttle is applied again.

Nitro is right.. but just to elaborate..

Since your RC engine is going totally berserk, pulsing along at 300-450 reciprocations per SECOND, you probably guessed that theres some serious thermodynamic stuff going on in there.

The boost bottle is pretty much an empty bottle that hooks up to the crankcase of the engine. When your piston closes the pots, the "backwash" of air/fuel enters the boost bottle and in the perfect world, you'd want to tune the bottle to resonate with the engine under peak power.

A boost bottle wont exactly increase your HP but it may lead to a more reliable torque curve, and smoother throttling.

But unfortunately it takes some drilling (of the crankcase) to install this. and since your drilling, you need to take the engine apart to make sure you dont have any filings on the inside. On top of everything, this is also another place for air leaks!!

So, unless it comes factory like that OS engine, its prolly not worth it

Boost bottle doesn't do much other than changes the characteristics of the acceleration and powerband, IMO don't waste your money on one.

The only thing a "boost bottle" does is lighten your wallet. They were first designed to be used on twin cylinder 2-stroke motorcycle engines that utilized an intake manifold design that was shared by both cylinders. It is supposed to collect droplets of fuel during the intake cycle of each cylinder and then redeposit them during the next intake cycle. To do this, the "bottle" was mounted with the intake/exit line mounted facing down or with the bottle vertical. This allowed the collection of fuel to be gravity fed back into the intake manifold. None of these things pertain to the engines we use. Most people install them on their nitro cars for the anodized "bling, bling". They do not help performance. They actually add weight to the car.

If your car "loads up" coming out of the turns, a boob (rhymes with noob) bottle will not help. The problem is that the engine is not tuned properly. A properly tuned engine will have instant transition from idle to high speed without any "bog" whatsoever. Those that know boost bottles don't work (in these applications) will have a "snicker" when you arrive at the track with yours. Good luck and good laughs.

krusty - this is supposed to be a helpful forum, if u are going to consistantly give rude answers, even if they are correct, feel free to refrain. Remember what your momma taught ya = if u cant say anything nice.....

varad - boost bottles significence is almost non existant. my engine- OS .21RZ(VO1B) already had one built into the block - however, dont install one - as drilling and tapping a hole in the carb is likely to cause more problems then fix. krusty is right, although he put it rudely, if u are loading up in the turns, then u need to lean out the LSN abit. that should help solve alot of ur problems.

Nitroaddict I'm not trying to defend nor hype it up. Its was a simple purchase to see if the thing worked or not. As far as drilling into the carb I didnt go that route, I used the supplied nipple fitting with the kit and removed one of the carb screws and installed the fitting in place of it. Once installed I fired it up and zoomed around the PL I did notice a good throttle response, but nothing to have a orgasm over. I mainly bought this to run the straight pipes (to bug the hell outta the neighbors). Its great for the basher who like to tinker around with different products.
