I think everyone is missing the most important aspect here. Forget how much they are charging to build it or not charging, there is absolutely no friggin way you are going to fit an HP5 and all the guts into the current Vario Dauphin with any sort of "scale exhaust" outlets. Just isn't possible without over temping the motor. How do I know this? Cause I have been working with Len Mount for the last 2 months on trying to do the same with his Dauphin fuse which is alot bigger in size. In fact you can pretty much fit the Vario inside the L&O model!
Both the Vario and the L&O are designed for the Benzine Trainer and unless you are willing to cut some serious ugly holes (negating any sort of "Top Gun" model) or have the funds to keep overtemping turbines or burning holes in exhaust systems..scale exhaust is out of the question for either model. Tim I'm surprised you overlooked this considering you have built a Vario Dauphin or two. So j1940us do yourself a favor and save your money and get a turbine pod & boomer to learn how to operate and fly one (and get your waiver) first.

Would you want to cut ugly exhaust holes in a model like this? Oh yeah this photo was taken at Top Gun in 2001.

Guys you were right the builder is having a heat problem with the exhaust on my prototype Turbine Vario Dauphine...

I was thinking of changing the fuse for a big airwolf, bell-230 or an ec135. I'm looking for a kit that has good detail and can handle the turbine mechanics. What do you guys suggest?

Alex
