Check out the link below at Hobby Lobby

Heh.... It looks like my little Kyosho might go brushless

Or a brushed Acro speed 280bb

http://www.hobby-lobby.com/speed280.htm

Make SPEED 280 powered RC airplanes CLIMB much faster -- up to 3+ times the power of 280's

I found a good article that suggest a

Duratrax Spike speed control
Hitec Shredder receiver

instead of the Futaba MCR 2ms combo unit on the Kyosho bikes.

I found that the Hitec Shredder can still be found for about $35 on the web.
The Duratrx Spike is about $26.24 at E hobbies

a nice idea, these brushless motors... however, can they be operated with the tiny Futaba thing specific for the HOR bikes?!
On second thought, though, and having run every kyosho bike so far, both with stock motor and with BB20, I 'd suggest they are plenty fast as they are... The main problem is... steering the things without crashing as often!
cheers!

My intentions with of using a brushless motor on the Kyosho motorcycle are not
to increase the speed, that is a byproduct of the brushless motor.

With the advent of Lithium Polymer batteries the runtime is increased greatly
going from 7 minute to a 20+ minute runtime would be my primary goal.

A suitable speed control and reciever would have to be adopted for the brushless.

I just wanted to thank you Steliosh, your website has been an inspiration for
my building of Kyosho motorcycles. I found your site 3 years ago and the photos
of your Mark I's are great.

Hey.. you always wanted to build a Marlboro Mark I ... Replicating the decals can now be done
with an inkjet printer and a printable decal sheet.
