Hi Cambo and peter,

thanks for the info. i have made up my mind to go for the car engine. I ordered a .12 car engine with team associated clutch, hope i can get it mounted on the old crtuch properly. also, i remember someone mentioned of using music wire for the extended shaft, can i get the size of the music wire please?

many thanks.

hi guys,

i have found the post of the music wire dimension in this forum, it is 5/32, do correct me is i am wrong.

i am thinking of ordering new blades as my old ones are tatty, do u think i should go for the S2 10X5 or S2 13X0 blades? also, do i need to put in a longer boom version for the .12 car engine?

many thanks.

PS, Nostame: can i have a look at your video? if u still have them, please send them to lawrencelkl98@yahoo.com , plenty of space in that account. thanks.

Lawrence,

Yes 5/32 is correct or 4mm. You can also go for a 5mm shaft. You just need to drill the spur gear and the rotorhub to 5mm also.

Why not order a set of both blades ?
No you don't have to put on a longer boom because of the car engine !
Have you already ordered your engine ???? if not, I would get one with pullstart so you don't have to worrie about starting your engine.

If Notasme don't have the movies anymore, I do so let me know...

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply and info. I will get some 5/32 or 4mm ( or 5 mm) music wire from LHS. i would g ofor those with minimum modification , not because i am not good at drilling etc, but i am a student with limited tools in this flatshare. good idea, i might order a set for both and see which one flies better.
yes, i already ordered the car .12 and luckily, yes! i ordered one with a pull start , so that i can go flying without dragging the heavy battery and starter!

I am just a poor student who depends on bus as means of transportation and i have to drag all those field equipment+ heli+ radio + fuel on bus and walk

i have just checked my yahoomail and there is no movie yet, do u mind sending them to mi? as i jsut cant wait to see the machine flying

cheers

Lawrence

Lawrence,

Sorry I do not have the video any more.

If you go with the long blades you also need the longer tail boom. You may also want to go with the longer tail rotor blades (faster tail response).

The shorter main rotor blades will give you a higher head speed. The longer main blades will give more lift. You will need to
change your blade grips, this is something that you have to gage from the way you like it to fly.

One other thing is you will need a bigger fuel tank. The lager engine will use more fuel.

Lawrence,

I will send you the movies... my only problem is that there was a thunderstorm passing us a couple of days ago and it fried my computer at home.
First I replaced the powersupply which was totaly dead only to find out that my motherboard also got fried...

I will get you the movies one way or the other !

Hi All,
sorry about my absence for quite some time. really bad news about my car engine mod for lite machines. the order from tower hobbies actually didnt arrived to my address in UK. eventually they offered a refund. helpful people though.

then i was tied up with something else. i did put in a brushless and run on 3 cells lipo for the lmh but the flight time is too short. i think my motor kv is way too low at the moment.

i have another .12 car engine in the post now and hopefully i will get it this time and really start with the car engien coversion this time round.
will keep u posted. cheers

Peter_d, can u send me the movies? i havent got a chance to watch jsut yet. please email at lawrencelkl98@yahoo.com

cheers

You could either use a bellcrank or get a slide carb for the OS. I liked reading through this thread, thanks
