Ray, great timing...or not so great! Depends on how you look at it!
I just lost my Corsair today...Hit the only freek'n tree at, or near the approach on final, arggggggg! Of course, I just spent three weeks repainting and refubishing it... It was built by Jeff Q. I bought it last year and have been flying it for some time....It was a great plane, so I figured, what the heck...lemme fix'r up a bit....

Oh well, sigh.....

Can I use my Robarts in this airplane with little or no mods? No offense, but I have a brand new set of the 150HD8's and I'm not looking to replace them!

Also, the engine I had in the Ziroli was a Sachs 4.2.
I also have available a Z445.....

Give me your honest opinion, what would be best for this bird? Either of the two, or a larger engine?

It doesn't mention panel lines, hatch and rivet detail...Does it have this detail molded in?

Enquiring minds want to know........

Crashing absolutely sucks! Crashing a good flyer sucks even more. I have had a couple of pigs over the years that I wished would just roll over and die , but those heavy hard to handle beasts would just keep on going and going. Then you get a "dream" plane like a Corsair, and ..... well something ends the relationship.

On the Century Jet; Retracts first, the Robart giant scale hd version is a solid unit. I trust it completely to handle up to a 65lb airplane. Aesthetically, I like the Robart as well, as it has that good looking down link on it. So if the strut length fits and the mounting works, then I say save your money. Me, if Bruce can replace the 3/4" struts for 1", I will upgrade to that diameter. I like those 1" struts. I can give very possitive testiment to the 3/4" as well. These two sizes are very robust and should offer lots of trouble free operation, sans the occisional hard landing or two.

Fuse and wing detail. I attached a close up picture of an access hatch, and there you can see the panel line detail. I dont recall rivets.

Sachs 4.2, is a very strong motor, and will adequately fly the plane, and depending on your all up weight will give you faster than scale presentations. I plan to run the 5.8, that way my prop to plane relationship will look nice.....not to mention the 5.8 is one powerfull motor.

Thanks Ray.... I'm still not clear on the retracts. should I contact "BRUCE"??
You say, "So if the strut length fits and the mounting works, then I say save your money. "

Does this mean that you're not sure if they do fit?

If you're not sure, who would know, and how would I contact them?

And lastly, remember that favor you said you owed me? I'm cashing in on it now...I'd like a 35 to 50% discount on all, and maybe...if you're not too busy, you can build and paint it for me:D...

No I had not asked Bruce about other retracts in the plane, but I will come monday. What I am saying is, if the Roarts will fit, use them, they are good retracts. The tires may be a different story, as Bruce is having his Corsair wheels and tires made by Glennis, which are scale and thin profiled, to fit within the wing.

All of a sudden, my local amnesia if flaring up.............. :D :D :D
