i have a new picco 26 in a 1st gen savage. i am gonna be going racing with it on the weekend and i just wanted to know what clutch bell to use in it. currently it has a 15 tooth in it but i have heard that with this cb in it, it will do nothing but lift the front wheels and i dont want this. should i step up to a larger cb and if so which one should i use??
any help would be greatly apprieciated.
thanks in advance, adrian

ok, my bud has the picco 26.

you should get the 18 tooth clutch bell and also get the 49 tooth spur gear.

they fit perfect together and it screams fast as hell (kept up with my 1/8 scale ultra mbx pro and other buggys at the track)

and even better, it still wheelies on demand with the 18 tooth in it.

Yeah I would also recommend the 18t clutch bell with a slightly smaller spur gear. This way you wont have to cut anything out to make it fit and it won't be so peppy to flip it over backwards all the time.

it isnt really possible to get a 49 tooth spur here in australia since hpi parts take for ever to arrive here. would a 17 tooth clutch bell be sufficient? what do you have to do to get the 18 tooth cb to fit?

i hope you have aluminum wheels, friend here has the exact same setup, but the picco will tear your stock rims to pieces in a matter of minutes.

With the stock spur gear if you go with a bigger clutch bell sometimes it will hit the tvp on the side. This is because you have to adjust the whole engine over all the way or the mesh with the spur gear will be too tight.
By using a 49 tooth spur gear this will give you more room to mesh the gears properly.
