Status: offline 		I have been flying with 7.4V 2000mA Lithium Polymer from Kokam. They are as good as NiCad with only 1/3rd the weight. I can get easy 6 flights per charge and will continue to test up to 8-10 flights. I believe that FMA is selling these batteries in the USA. If you don't know where to get them, email us and we can supply.

Lithium Polymer is good for our J600 if you need to save the weight. Note that Li Polymer is not the same as Li-Ion.

Status: offline 		The weight for 2000mAh 7.4V Lithium Polymer is 90grams compared to 300grams for 7.2V 1800mAh Ni-Cad. You can get this capacity Li-Po for around $40 in the USA so the cost for Li-Po is really competitive with Ni-Cad.

Status: offline 		I want to run my 1300 with a 7.4V Lithium-ION pack 4200mAh.
As opposed to Lithium Polymer, would this be OK? I want to use the LG 10C discharge 18650 cells.

LiPo and LiIon battery have developed greatly in the past few years and these batteries are now very reliable. 7.4V LiIon can be used to supply power to the ECU. I am using 7.4V LiPo on my jets but I have seen 7.4V LiIon in operation with no problem.

Thanks for the quick response.
I agree, a lot of manufacturers are now starting to include lithium batteries with the turbines they promote and sell. The benifits far outweigh the use of old nickle-type batteries by far.
