Status: offline 		one of the things that will help me decide if i want to get a buggy or a monster truck is if buggies can handle mud. i plan on taking my rc car with me and my brother when he goes off-road with his real car. this means that i would be using it on trails which are a lot of mud. would a buggy have the ground clearance to get through mud or would it get stuck?

Status: offline 		Have you ever done all the requiered maintance(re repars) that any nitro truck or buggy would need if you drove it in mud with twigs and branches and rocks?

I'm new here but that seems like not the place to take your new MT/buggy

I used mine once in a dirt PK lot when it was drizziling out.
Man what a mess the next day.hours of clean up for 10 minutes of no traction fun.
Clutch berings bad, a bent axle and lower arm cause a rock got stuck in the wheel.

Oh and that was with a MT.

A buggy only has maybe 2 inches clearance at the most.
althought the tires would spin so fast it would probablly go on top of the mud. LOL!

Status: offline 		i think i'll go with a buggy then because niether would work in the mud. i can still use my rc car down the road from my house at construction sites. and a buggy would be better for that right?

I have a mugen buggy and a CEN MT
I used the buggy for an hour today on the grass and never even looked at the MT.

PLUS you can convert the buggy and put MT tires on it at a later date if you want.

Status: offline 		Once you get it be sure to seal up the electronics! Put a ballon over the receiver and battery pack. Stuff ALL of the connectors into the receiver ballon. You don't want to have something short out and have your radio!

Status: offline 		My brother and I went out to a construction site last night to bash around a bit, I bought my T-Maxx (the buggy is down for time being) and he had his Inferno. The site was pretty rough because of previous rain, there was some really deep tire ruts and such. My MT handled the ruts better but his buggy still got through it quicker. The power of the buggies helps them get through just about anything. They have great aproach and departure angle also. As far as running them through the mud, you would have to be very careful that mud doesnt get up into the spur gear (there is a cutout in the chassis that exposes it) and in the flywheel (also has a cutout for a starter box). I have also had problems with mud clogging the stinger and killing the engine after a rollover.
