    Going to build a custom rear exhaust.

    SPECS: Outlet inner diameter: 11mm (0.43" )
    Engine side inner diameter: 13mm (0.51" )

    Awesome about the custom exhaust. I built one out of copper pipe it is insanely loud and has monster low and mid range torque, but absolutley no top end! I just set my shift point lower and the truck hauls ass.

    Also, where did you find the specs for the header at Tower?

    I can't find them.

    I just looked for the t-maxx 2.5 header itself, and it lists the specs in the "tech notes" below the picture of it.

    Aluminim tubing should work fine for an exhaust system, I just used copper cause I got a huge piece of it for cheap, and since it's used for household hotwater pluming, I went to home depot and found many copper elbow and T splitter pieces that attach right to the copper tubing. So all I had to do was measure and cut the tubing, fit the pieces together and solder my exhaust system together. Also, the copper tubing is even wider than the 11mm header outlet, so it's F&ckin louder than if you were running a straight header. It actually was too loud for day to day bashing, so I made a little insert silencer that fits into the tail pipe and makes it more like the volume of a very loud tuned pipe. Custom exhausts own all.

    You soldered your exhaust system together?!?!?!

    I am just going to cut off the connectors off of the header and solder them on the tubing. Then it will be just like the regular header but customized.

    Status: offline     		Sounds good. Yes I soldered the exhaust system together, my dad had a torch, and some high temperature thick gauge solder that is ment for stuff like copper tubing (not electrical work if that's what you are thinking).

    I will try to get a pic of the exhaust installed later

    Anyways I am going to try to keep the stock pipe on the truck so that I don't lose any power.

    How did you make the silencer?

    I just took a much smaller diameter piece of plastic tubing, made a little fitting for it, and jammed it in the end of the pipe. So the exhaust tip was much smaller, and it actually had backpressure. Worked pretty well.

    Nice flowmaster exhaust by the way!! LOL!!!

    I'm going to make the exhaust system hopefully this weekend and then over thanksgiving break perfect it.

    Then after that send it in to a company either get it powdercoated or chrome it.

    It is only the header, but I am thinking about making my own exhaust pipe, just for fun and seeing if I can get any good sounds coming out of it, by making different mufflers for it.

    If anybody has made a muffler for the car/truck or has any ideas please post and pics would be nice.
