HI Guys, Okay, I'm tired of looking at P-51's, P-47's, Corsairs and the like. Not that I don't like them, but after a bit they all start to look alike! Lets see some of those nice big Luftwaffe birds out there! I'll start off the thread with my super 140" wingspan FW Ta-152H which was built by Ty Brown of Kannapolis, N.C. Ty is an extremely talented builder as is evident by this outrageous bird! She is powered by a Quadra 75 XL, has CJM retracts.
Horrido!

Wow, some nice airplane Guys! Evan, I've only seen one or two 109's nicer than yours...I think that Pat McCurry built them...actually I think he just has some good photos of real aircraft and he's trying to get us to believe that they're models Seriously though, Pat, your 335 is truly a work of art, as is your 109...it boggles my mind thinking that you actually made those truly from scratch! If I could do one 1/2 that nice before I leave this world I would be a very happy man indeed. Jester, how does your Meister 190 fly? My last 190 was a sweetheart, only problem was I had a slight mental lapse burried her while low and inverted! I hope to build another one this winter...it's #2 on my "To Do" list of winter projects. Keep those posts coming guys!
Happy flying,
Rob Bailey / Pickupsticks

Here is my Ziroli Stuka (formerly owned by Evan, but now fortunately mine ). G-62 for power. Flies awesome. Much better then my first one. Just flew her four times this past weekend. Think it is probably the best flying bird in my fleet. Nope, not 4 sale.

Jerry,

The 154 flies rock solid.. fast but it feels heavy I am not sure how to explain it it could just be my nerves

I have 2 OS 52 4 strokes in it.. I use Spring air retracts.. the wingspan is about 70 inches ... I havent weighed it... maybe 12 lbs?

It lands real nice .. the take offs are almost always squirrely.. I think it is because my engines dont synch throughout the whole power band.. I synch em for 3/4 throttle so when I run them up for take off one is pulling slightly faster than the other.. I have tried full throttle take offs with someone holding the plane and releasing it.. that works best but I don tlike the way it looks ... maybe if I had brakes on it I could do it that way ..

I did some rolls the last time I flew it so I think I am starting to get used to the way it flies..

Wow...I am definitely impressed! Too bad there's not a Luftwaffe only warbird event! He did you all see on RC Warbirds that outrageous twin turbine Horten? If not, you have to check that one out!!! Hey Jason, is your 335 from Al Masters plans? Maybe if we all get on Pat's case he'll kit his 335...that would awesome indeed! I'm already planning on the '4 WOD fly in...I'm just bringing Luft. birds...262, 109, 190D9 & of course the Ta-152. I think WOD was where Ty more or less unveiled the Ta-152 a few years ago. Hey Ty, Do you have plans for the conversion from the D9 ??? Burl, no I haven't found her yet. Now the weather has turned I'll be able to get some folks to help me search fro her...until the frost hit they were all afraid of snakes...bunch a wimps With the rain we've had the river is still much higher than usual and the only way across is to get out the waders...of course I reckon I could drive in from the other side, but it would take me longer to to walk through the woods to our field to orient myself. Evan, I've forgotten how nice your D9 is after seeing all the pics of the 109...really a nice looking bird...maybe I'll have to get you to build something for me sometime! The pics I'm putting up this time are of my Me-262, she was built by Joe Saitta of Seminole, Fla. Real sweet flying airplane, with no bad habits at all.
Keep em comin guy's!
Happy flying,
Rob Bailey / Pickupsticks

Don't forget to check out my website to see lot's of nice giant scale warbirds if you haven't already! www.warbirdbuilder.com
Also, if you have a warbird that you would like to have featured, drop me an email and tell me about it!
