I have a GV Rex X which for the money I think is a very good car but I think it maybe needs a bit more speed and was wondering if someone could recommend a good replacement engine that will not cost the earth. It came with an Ofna Force p4.

Thanks

what is ur price limit? if u are trying to stay economical - go with the OS .21RG - engine is a beast! wicked fast, and extremely easy to tune. can pick one up for about 130.00USD

Before changing the engine Dieselhammer - Try new gearing. High # teeth on the clutch bell will give you more top end speed. Lower # teeth on the spur gear will give you more top end speed.

I have seen the Rex-X perform at local track in Wakfield. Very nice car for the money.

It would cost way to much to ship it there and back - Much less the cost of porting it on top of the shipping costs.

The Rex-X comes with an OFNA Force engine? Aren't they are made by Hongnor?

Hong Nor is OFNA. Hong Nor is the Japanese name and Ofna is the imported name. Hong Nor makes all of the cars and Ofna is just a branch that distributes them.

I agree with Nitroaddict. The OS21RG is a great engine for the money! Another worthy contender would be the Ofna 8 port Race engine. It lays down 2.7 hp and has more bottom end than the standard 8 port. At 150.00, it's a heck of a deal too. Also, not to split hairs, but Hong Nor makes the 9.5 and the Ultra series buggies while Ho Bao makes the Hyper series.

Over here - everything is released under the HBao name not OFNA - But I was surprised to hear he said his Rex-X had an OFNA Force engine. -- In america the Rex-X I think is called the X-Terminator. Nice car - we have a sponsored driver at our club who has one. He loves it.
