Ok , I want the Double Vision, who do I send the check to? I cant believe Great Planes blew it so bad. If the had come out with a 3D version of an Ultimate instead of the Eagle I bet they would have sold out by now. Why are so many manufactureres ignoring the 50cc market? I dont consider the 76 to 78 inch wingspan planes with 32oz/sq ft wingloading to be 50cc planes. I have a one of the Wild Hare Edges from the first run ordered, and I would have bought one of the Extreme RC's Extras if they had come in. The Dave Patrck 120 Ultimate was one of my favorite planes but to small for Gas, and once you've been there there is no going back to glow. Joe

the price of the cap is really good for a 50cc sized plane, cant wait!

While it is listed as taking up to a 50cc gasser, I'd think this plane would fair better with a lighter engine... maybe a YS-140... Now if them BME 55 Extremes get released early spring.... I'm guessing this CAP will perform similar to the Extreme Flight's 68" YAK... man that's another one I gotta have, along with the 50cc... :) Sombody shoot me... but let me fly these new Chip Plane's first... :) quote: ORIGINAL: lagCisco the price of the cap is really good for a 50cc sized plane, cant wait!

I have flown them both. They are incredible. I flew the Cap several months ago. I flew it when Chip had the OS 160fx in it and helped him install the DA50. There is no wing rocking, none, nada in a harrier. The Da 50 gave the plane crazy power. I flew the DV a few weeks ago. Harriers to landing. Same as the Cap no wing rocking. Even if you have never done a harrier, you can do it with the 2 planes with little effort. Both should sale fast. Especially the Cap. Tony Watkins

SHeesh.... waddya want an ugly face with a rockin' bod or a beautiful face on a porker body? I know, I know... you want it all.... :) Actually I really LOVE the looks of the DV... it's not an Ultimate... or a Pitts... It's a DV! It's got the Giles pattern wings with mondo surfaces and a slim & sexy fuse. I'm just still trying to figure out how they ran the exhaust... It features a pipe channel so I'll bet this little baby will be whisper quiet and have the extra power of the tuned pipe... I've been anxiously awaiting a 50cc bipe ARF that has some favorable wing loading... Oh... and one last thing all.... best I can tell these prices ARE REALLY intro offers only... the prices WILL go up to a more reasonable price.

Tony, Have you any idea what the CAP weighed with the DA.......I have 2 of the BME55XTs on order and I think it should make a great combo

The cap was flown at the Tucson shootout. Chip took it up on Thursday afternoon and Steve Nelson flew it in advanced because his 3m extra went in with radio problems. It was flown with a 140 Dingo and Hatori muffler. It looked very light because he had tons of power.

quist, It was a Fibreclassics and it went in because he forgot to put the screw that holds one of the elevators on. What a shame the plane was gorgeous.

I believe Steve is in the process of having Comp Arf do a custom order with the same paint scheme. It was the only paint scheme that looked as nice as Ivan Kristensen's.

That sounds more like it... I've seen firsthand how 2 exact same planes (not necessarily DV's) fly different due to setup. Perhaps the one JohnVH saw hadn't been tweaked yet... perhaps things like aileron differential, CG and throw setting combinations had yet to be explored. Someone else mentioned ease of harrier & hover... Chip stated the same thing... he said: "It's really amazing... people who are just learning to hover & harrier are able to do them rock solid with only a few minutes stick time on the DV." I was excited that I am going to spend 10 days at Disneyworld next week, but now all I keep thinking about is this friggin plane. Mickey who? God I hope it ships by X-Mas. My gf keeps asking me what plane I want for X-Mas. Well this would be it. Can you imagine this plane built with DA-50 under the X-Mas tree Christmas morning, talk about morning wood! I thought nothing could compare to my Huffy Pro 3 when I was 9. This would exceed every X-Mas combined. C'mon Chip, I know you are reading these threads buddy! Give me the greatest X-Mas present of all, a Dec 25th or earlier delivery date.

looks like the 50cc gasser category is really on fire right now, bunch of new engines, and alot more airplanes for these new breed engines, i was waiting extreme flight rc yak to get into gasses but now its a toss up, cant wait for those flight reports!

O.K. guys... here's the scoop... It's still going to be a few days before the chiphyde.com site is up, but chip want's you all to be able to "get in line"... So sending the following information will place you in line: Name e-mail address shipping address phone number plane wanted (for the DV specify the purple stripe or blue stripe or no preference) A temporary order address has been setup at chiphydeorders@renderwurx.com The new address will be posted when live... More scoop... 100 CAP-X's are finished and have been inspected personally by Chip... 30 DV's are almost ready as well and Chip says he'll be inspecting them too. I do not know the particulars as far as how many of this first shipment is already promised but you can bet that both supplies will be gone in a heartbeat... THIS batch is expected to arrive around the end of this year or the first week of January. More will arrive, probably the first week of February. It is first come, first serve... no deposit necessary. They'll contact you when the delivery is imminent and get your payment then. Yee haw!

Yeah that BME 55 ought to be a REAL winner in this plane... Same weight as the O.S. 1.60FX!
