What a shame to see all the carnage, although the video was produced so well that I nearly fell off my seat laughing! Great soundtrack for it all, as well. And the firetruck and pilot's bodies on tailgate were classic. After watching it again I really did feel bad about laughing so hard when seeing those guy's faces. I really do feel for their loss. Near my house in California is a rather poorly designed curvy road--the kind with variable radius blind curves that swim between very large pine trees. The curves are banked, but not in the proper inclination. So every time I ride this road (which is daily) my stomach kinda' goes Woo, and I'm even doing the speed limit. Before each curve, the local authorities posted not only safe speed warning signs but also this gem: "Speed enforced by radar". Now, I have NEVER seen a cop shooting radar on that road in four years of driving it. But I have seen an average of about one wreck per month--invariably, someone going too fast (maybe their radar detector indicated All Clear). I think to myself--perhaps instead of "Speed enforced by radar" the sign should read "Speed enforced by Newton's 2nd Law of Motion". Go too fast, and you won't get a ticket, you'll get a stretcher and a tow truck. Mother nature doesn't care if you're in a hurry or if it's a big competition or if you're a really good pilot or driver. The laws of physics are constant and the conditions are the variables. Our job as the operators of machinery is to properly gauge those conditions and mitigate their effect on our task at hand. If the road might be icy, then slow down or risk sliding out of control. If it's hot and at high altitude, then you upcrank the widgy on the whozit and downthrottle the whirlyblat inside of the schnizket lest you flameout. That's part of the beauty of this hobby. Every flight is like no other!
