Got one more idea, I have noticed a problem with very top end airplanes, and that is they spend huge amounts of time and money getting the thing built and very little time flying that particular type of plane. What I mean is that you do not get much stick time on most high end planes and are almost always flying it for what seems like the first time. That also brings out all the bugs that come with first time flights, and you do not instinctively understand what the engine and airframe is telling you. I have seen high end planes with seven flights in five years, you can't get a feel for a planes characteristics with that kind of schedule. I went to Madera and watched the Unlimited Reno Air Races there (model version) and the attrition rate was unbelievable. It was the same thing, they put the effort into the plane, and then didn't want to fly it until the day of the show/race. It is very important to bring a pristine plane to the show/race and so they put it up until flight time. This of course isn't a hard and fast rule, there are notable examples of people who don't follow this pattern, but it is prevalent. I'll bet we were looking at some of them in the video, huge talent, lots of money, great equipment, but in a new and unfamiliar plane. Sometimes there is more money than talent also, but that is another chapter. I loved the video, and the music rocked so hard, it made the pilots look a little wimpy. The song seemed to be eat guts and die, and the pilots looked like they needed a hug. I'm sure I have had that look on my face once or twice, and I'm just glad they didn't play that great head banging music at the same time!!! Just my two cents!! MR Flyer57
