Just spoke to support as to why the .61 Pitts Muffler recommended with the Tower .61 wouldn't work on the .75 - restriction was the only answer - Am I just missing something glaring and obvious but couldn't you ream out the exhaust on the muffler to allow for the extra flow?

Cavity volume is a bigger issue than back pressure?

I would think though that there wouldn't be enough difference in a 75 to matter too much though?

The Super Tiger 61 and 75 share the same ones though the Super Tiger 90 uses a larger one.

Worse case would be a un explained overheating problem.

Good luck,

Jim

You can solve your problem by buying the Slimline Pitts style muffler made for the OS 91FX, and filing the holes in the mounting flange of the muffler just slightly towards the center. It is fairly large capacity, fits the engine well, and the engine runs well with this setup.

91FX muffler mounting holes are 42mm center-to-center. Tower 75 is 40mm, so stretching 1mm each way should do the trick.

However, the Bisson GMS .76 Pitts muffler should fit the Tower perfectly, since they appear to be virtual twins made by the same engine manufacturer. It's priced at $33.99, whereas the Pitts mufflers for a .91FX is either $43 or $50.

Not available yet though.
