I've read several posts about fixing the mushy brakes in the Savage. The one that made perfect sense, replaced the soft tubing with a harder material.
Someone note however, that this would ruin the servo in the long term. Is there a sure fire way to upgrade the performance of the Savage brakes?

Thanks

You don't have to replace the tubing with stronger material...simply cut a longer piece so there is more grab.
Also you can loosen the set screw on the brake pivot point where the horizontal linkage meets and drop the linkage a few more mm to increase braking power. You can also upgrade your servo.

buy a new servo with more torque for your steering and take the one you had for your steering and put it in your throttle. i put a new brake disk and now my truck flips over.http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDVK6&P=0

I've got a piece of plastic clothes hangar in the place of the fuel tubing on my brake linkage. I also used the SF-2 servo from the steering as the throttle/brake servo. With a little adjustment there is no worry about stripping the servo. I'm over 3 gallons and witht his set up and no problems so far. My truck flips over forward on braking at the drop of a hat.
