I've just found this this wonderful cheap plane, and want to ask if anybody has experience with it before I buy it.

When buying your first airplane, you need to think with your head, not with your heart. From the multiple posts in this forum and the multiple posts strewn about the site asking this exact same question (see my PM to you, it's against site rules) it sure seems like you have your heart set on this plane come he!! or high water. That's not always a good idea, especially when we're talking about a VERY inexpensive plane like this one.

Since this is the only thread out of all of them that's gotten a response, and that responder doesn't know how the plane flies, it is a good idea to pass on this airplane and look for something different. You need to do your research carefully. Some of these very inexpensive planes are okay, and some of them are junk.

There is a lot of discussion on the "Freedom Flyer" in this forum. Evidently, it flies well and the seller is reputable. Maybe you should check that out?

I have one of these and its my first plane. have to say i'm really pleased with it as it seems to be almost indestructible and seems to fly well. I've crashed it many times, some times quite fast and all i've had to do is strengthen the control surface attachments.
as i said i have no experience in flying model planes so i dont know much about how it compares with other models or if it behaves the way it should, but i found it easy to fly and not so easy to dammage.

One word of caution tho, the only thing i have broken is the reciever, and so far i have had almost no luck finding any spares for it.
so if anyone out there knows where i can get one, i'd be very greatful.

hope this helps

I have the Badius and it flies well. Check item 3156748294 on ebay . This is the exact same plane from a USA distributer in Las Vegas. It includes a spare wing and folding prop and shipping is only $16. Note that the transmitter is on 27 mHrz with elevator on left and rudder on right.

I ordered a badius, and should have it this weekend. I have not flown in 12 years... and never electric. I will report next week.

I ordered it from raidentech.com for $79. Shipping was 7.50. No tax. They have spare parts. Wings are 7 bucks. Other parts are cheap too. It should arrive today, and I am eager to try it.

I haven't flown in 15 years..... got a nice .40 size aerobatic bipe up in the attic.... along with an old MRC radio system that I can't use any longer since freq. changes in early 90-s. I also have a nice 2 meter glider around the house somewhere with a hi-start.... did lots of plane building and u-control flying as a kid.

Anyway, I figured I would like to get back into flying without the hassle of fuel, big fields, and expensive airplanes. The Badius looks like a high aspect wing craft with a little wind penetration for good measure.

...We'll see!

for densy and any other non US dudes wanting cheaper shipping for baius (after much net surfing) I'm in Australia and you are in canada and it seems that raiden tech charge exorbitant amounts of shippage to anywhere outside US but I've found a company based in hong kong that ships them for a lot less and you can choose ground shipping if you want a cheaper option again, they are http://www.rc-expert.com hope this helps dude!

I flew the badius. At first it didnt fly at all. 1- because i had ZERO exp AND zero patience. 2.It was very windy that day! I boke all wings and the prop. Later i fixed it with packing tape and used the spare prop. i tried on a day with no wind and it flew very well with the damaged taped up wings! its a good plane for 75 bucks!

It flew very well,at least I think so.I have little experience,I ran a total of three batteries through it.I broke two wings and a prop.Fixed the wings with packing tape.I found it best to reinforce the wings on the front, back, and down the very middle.I was flying level about 100 ft up and was going to climb.Ipulled back a little too much and it looped on me.Due to the lack of altitude it buried the nose 1 inch into the ground. It didn`t hurt it at all since I reinforced the wings.I got it into a power line, nosed into pavement, broke the reciever.I ordered one from Raidentech 2 weeks ago but I still havent got it.I can`t wait.

Mine flew ok for me too though not at first. My first try was in alot of wind. After i fixed it it flew ok. i did a couple loops. i noticed though that its a little sluggish compared to my aerobird but, still fun.

Troubles taking off huh??

Make sure your battery is fully charged

Make sure your control surfaces are in neutral position while TX trims are also in neutral.

Have a helper hand launch the plane by giving a STRONG hand thrust perfectly level to the horizon... into the wind ( hopefully it is light)

Keep the plane straight and level for a bit.... she'll pick up speed and begin to climb. Guaranteed
