Anyone out there found any problems with the GWS A10 on the EDF 55 fans.
I've had to cut a new battery hatch pushing the cells up to the nose, alternative was to add weight.
Anyway I'm hoping I wont have a cool RC Car!

How could we? The LHS called Horizon the other day and was informed we had 3 more weeks to wait!

Hi Ger,

Just flown my '55. Initially needed all the weight given to balance, but I also needed lots of up elevator to maintain level flight. Second flight, I removed half the weight, better but still needed up trim. I have now taken all the weight out, but put my RX in the nose. Not tried that yet as it is too cold, and the epoxy has still not set (gluing the nose back on)

I do have a little trouble with glitches, though. Might be because I had the RX near the ESC (2" , hence the need to glue the nose back on and move the RX into that section.

The performance was, slight to say the least. Just managed about 20', but rolls were possible with a little run up. Hope the weight saved will improve things.

Steve

What battery pack are you guys using?

I have flown my A-10 with the EDF-55 once in a fair amount of wind and she really struggled to hold altitude( not enought airspeed/thrust to make a turn)

I'm using a 7cell 700mah Ni-mh AAA pack and need to have weight in the nose to balance her out. I was thinking of adding another cell to the pack and taking the extra weight out?

Im using KAN 1050 8 cell packs.
8cell pack weighs 176 grams

I cant imagine using AAA packs. Even my KAN packs get pretty warm, and they can handle around 18 amps.
CG is right on with these packs.
Motors included in my kit are called EM150G
Flying weight is 650 grams

It flys fine. Deffinatly not overpowered. I think 8 cells is too much for these motors, as I can see lots of sparks from the endbell of the motor at full throttle. 7 cells will make the motors last longer for sure . But I just fly at reduced throttle at the moment.
Im going to upgrade to the EM300H motors as soon as my LHS has them in stock. They should withstand a 9 cell pack.
