Hello Laurenne,

Just a quick question. I would like Santa to put a new RCV91-CD under my Christmas Tree. I read one post that indicated that they would not hit the market until January 2004. I have also read some posts that refer to this as a RCV96-CD.

So, my question are:
1. Is it really an RCV91-CD (presuming that the reference to RCV96 was just a typo), and
2. If I pre-order this from a LHS here in Massachusetts, will it indeed be on the shelves for delivery in January, or will the deliveries be staggered such that it may take a few months to hit everywhere?

I'm not trying to pin anyone to the wall with question #2, but I'd like to know how distribution will be handled. I'd like to plan a new project around that FCV91-CD and would like to know how realistic the distribution would be.

Thanks for the information, I've had my eye on these engines for a long time and would sure like to try one....

Bob

Hi Bob

Unfortunately due to pre-production changes, the 96CD has now been re-designated as an RCV91CD. Due to adverts and press releases, you may still see references to the 96CD, however this is now incorrect.

Due to these changes, there has also been a further delay on the 91CD availability. We are now anticipating this engine will be available around March 2003 (a more definitive date should be available in the next couple of weeks). Engines will be available on a first come first serve basis as always, so shops who place forward orders will receive their engines first. If the first production batch gets sold out prior to release (as was the case with the 58CD engines) then further orders would not be satisfied until the following production - approx 1 month later.

We will be sending out full information to RCV dealers prior to Christmas (once we have a launch date) so if you want a 91CD at the earliest opportunity I would recommend you ask your local model shop to place a forward order. (or you may order direct)

Best regards
Laurenne
