r u sure it died already ?the engine i would suggest is picco26/wasp26 ,mach26 ,xtm pro 247 which has the same specs as the mach26
i have the 8 port and its good too but i could have gotten the picco26 then but it wasnt available yet...right now the on i mentioned r the best and would fit it with no mods...

just use hpi engine exchange program and get the new s-25 engine. if ur engine died just get a rebuild if u dont want to spend the extra money on a engine
i recommend going to hpiracing.com and looking at the engine exchange

I bought a monster truck to have fun, not to race.
The stock engine in the savage 21 is a finicky engine.. far too much tweaking.. with the weather up here in TO changing 10 degrees in one day on average it was just impossible to run consistantly. I got an OS 21RG-X. It's not the fastest, it's not the strongest, but I set it up once a month ago and have NEVER had to tuch it again. It just works, first or second pull every time. And HPI themeslves make a fit kit for it (new header, shims and washers).

It's a good trouble free engine for hours of fun, not tweaking.

knn air filters are the best because there the same foam as all the other air filters except they have a metal barb arond the out side witch is a great cleaner for the engine and kepps out 99% of the dust. And all u people geting bigger enginges go to www.rbinnovations.com and get the super charger the super charger is more expensive but it perfomes your engine better it doesnt geat as goos as qualitie as .26.they work the best on the smaller enines and allso het there hyper valve all this garanteed to add 15mph.
