Has anyone used a wall unit battery cycler/charger with their car battery? I have one of those cigarette lighter power sources that will accept a standard 3 plug appliance. I used it for a laptop. I bought a jr xp8103 but do not have a wall charger. I was thinking about getting one charger that could slow charge from my home and quick charge at the field. Will my car battery pose any problems for quick charging?

Zetor, I plug my Hitec cg-330 fast charger into the car cigarette lighter and no issues so far.

Some of those "inverters" use a rough method of providing AC power and I've heard can be hard on electronics. I use one to plug my cell phone charger into so it seems to work. I use 12V sourced chargers for my RC stuff though.

As an alternative to cig lighter I purchased a jump starter emergency battery for field charging. Its got a sealed 20A/h battery in it, carry handle, heavy duty cables, emergency light, air compressor (retracts), cig lighter and volt meter. Charges from AC adapter or another battery via cig lighter. Weighs about 22 Lbs. The light will burn for days in case of black out and I have used it for powering other stuff like portable cooler radios ect..It also serves its primary purpose as emergency jump starter. Cost about $45 at sams club. If you get one, find one that the battery can be replaced in the future if needed. Some of the cheaper ones are sealed in plastic case.
