I am looking for a more powerful replacement for my old APEX charger which leaves just too much be desired for. I can’t charge my transmitter and receiver pack at the same time, the cell count is limited to 8 and of course, it doesn’t work on Li-Po. The only good thing is that it can be powered by car batteries as well as off the wall socket.

The new charger should be able to do at least the followings :

1) Charges at least 2 packs at the same time.
2) Works on all types of batteries for RC use. I.e. Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Lead acid and Li-Po.
3) Charges Ni-Cd packs up to 32 cells and Li-Po packs up to 12 cells.
4) Able to do quick charging for low-capacity cells ( e.g. 250 mAH Ni-MH ). The minimum charging current of my APEX charger is 0.6A which is a bit too high for this purpose.
5) Reports the performance of batteries by producing charging / discharging curves.
6) Others that I may have missed. E.g. equalizing Li-Po cells ?

The Spectra and Schulze chargers seems to meet my requirements but as the prices of these chargers are all on the high side , I would like to listen to some opinions before finalizing my choice.

Thanks in advance,

Y C Lui

If you want something that does Everything well, be prepared to fork out the cash.

I do reccomend a schulze charger, and with the ISL6-330 out at $190 it really is a great deal.
