I have an older hobbico quick field charger. It isn't the MKII model. Is there any real difference besides the ability to charge lithium batteries. I don't think mine is made anymore.

There are significant differences, much more than just the ability to charge lithium. You can peak charge 1-8 cell NiCd or NiMH radio batteries, and 1 to 3 cell Lithium. You also can choose the charge rate. When charging is done it automatically goes into trickle.
