When i drive my electric rustler, and an obstacle hits one of the front wheels really hard, the whole steering mechanism pops out of place. it locks the wheels in a sharp turn one way or the other beyond the distance that trim can fix. to fix it, i have to stop the car, and turn the wheels in the opposite direction that they got locked into, and it makes "krkrkkr" noise while doing so. is this a normal function of the servo saver, or can i buy a better one?

your lucky that I have a electric rustler to! And I had almost everything that can happen to it happen!
lol

Well it sounds like the gears IN your servo broke. like one is missing a tooth because of really hard imapact! So know that your gear is broken it is skipping over the tooth of the broken gear so it is slipping on that gear. Its a little hard to understand, but here is the short versoin of it.
One of your gears in your servo is missing a tooth. and you need to get new gears to put in it. you can get all the gears for about 3 bucks. Once I replaced the gears it kept on doing it. so I just bought a Traxxas High Torqe Servo and Hasnt happened ever again!!

So you can either replace the gears for 3 dollers and have a CHANCE it will happen again are you can get a Traxxas High Torqe Servo for $18.99
Personally I would get the new servo. But its your call. If you have any questions about this post them and I will respond as soon as I see them!

i checked the gears within the servo, they are all fine.
the thing is, everything works perfectly after i pop the wheels back to center. i think the servo saver is slipping off the servo.....
thanks

Chances are that the spline on the gear that actually sticks out of the servo is stripped. It could also not be compatible with the servo you are running. Either get a new adapter that goes between the output spline and the servo saver, or get a new servo saver all together. The Kimbrough Large #5 is a good one.
