Hi i have noticed that my rear shock has a little bit of oil on the outside, It was factory assembled and i have tried tightening it. Is a little bit of a leak normal or might it just be oil overflow from the assembly? Thx

any kind of leak is not normal. when you wiped it did the oil come back over the shock again. if so its prolly a leak.

it did not folow out after i wiped it away. Would a factory filled and assembled shock have any over flow from being filled.
Thx

It could be overflow from being filled to much from the factory but more than likely isn't.

Chances are it wasn't assembled correctly at the factory or their was a defective part in the shock. It happens from time to time.

When I bought my RC10GT one of the front shocks retainer rings on the inside of the shock (holds the seals in) wasn't the correct size and would come loose after 10-15 seconds of rebuilding the shock. To correct the problem I bought a shock rebuild kit for around $7.00 - $8.00 and rebuilt the shock. I had no more problems after that. I also had plenty of stuff after wards to re-build the rest of the shocks as they wore out as well.

I would suggest taking the shock apart and re-building it, look for parts that are broken or that don't fit quite right. If that doesn't help, purchase a re-build kit and re-build it again. That should solve your problems.
