Status: offline 		I have the option of either converting a 40cc Husqvarna or a 42cc Poulan. Which should I convert? Does one have an advantage over the other? Which is easiest to convert? Thanks for all your help!

Status: offline 		Try to get a exploded view of thye Husky and see what you think. The Huskies I've seen in recent years are most ly plastic except for the running gear itself so there may not be much difference.

If you havn't been doing conversions, the Poulan would be better because there is a lot of info on here about them and C-H sells the parts where you don't have to make them.

Status: offline 		Yeah, I think that I am going to go with the Poulan. This was my original choice, but I have the opportunity to pick up a new 40cc Husqvarna saw for $90. I can get the 42cc Poulan for $120 (I think) from lawnstation.com. Seems to be more conversion parts available.

BTW: do you think that a 46cc engine will be overkill for a dynaflite decathlon? Plane weighs approx 16-17lbs.

Status: offline 		It will have more power than needed but the physical size and weight between the 33, 42, and the 46 is the same. In the long term, the 46 would give you more flexibility for future use in other planes. You don't have to use it full throttle?

Status: offline 		zipnsplat, i have a Poulan 46 on my Super Decathlon. Yes it is probably overkill, but that's what the throttle is for. It will fly nice and slow or climb with unlimited vertical. I'm sure having fun with mine.

Status: offline 		DBF, very nice Decathlon there. That is a Dynaflight, right?

The 46cc is the way to go, especially if you're keeping the magneto ignition. If you're buying from Lawnstation, the difference between 42 and 46 isn't all that much. Be sure to check their Ebay ads though.
