I have a new FS-70 fourstroke in my Astrohog. It continually surges at high throttle seetings. No matter how I adjust the needle valve it still does it. I have muffler pressure to the tank and the tank is correct height. There is no pump on this motor Fuel is 5% nitro, 18% coolpower, 78% methanol. appreciate any advice thanks cheers Peter

I use Wildcat 15% Extra, all my 4-strokes love this stuff. I used some Omega 15% once and noticed on my 91s the rpm would surge/fluctuate at full throttle. CoolPower 15% also runs great.

I also have used wildcat fuel with great results. My local hobby shop sells wildcat but put there label on it. This is what it is nitro 10%, 18% oil content, 80/20 synthetic castor blend works great

thanks for the tips guys. i hadn't thought of valve clearance as it is a new donk. I did take muffler pressure off and it now screams along however the low and mid range transistion is awful. I will have a play with the valves then the other adjustments and see how it goes cheers Peter

Just for grins....Check for an airleak......The fuel tank plug would be a good place to start...Make sure screw is gutentite. Then replace all fuel lines with "good stuff". Good Luck, DOC

thanks for all the advice guys I checked the valves and they did require adjusting. They are now set and it has helped a bit. I tried with and without muffler pressure. It really does like no muffler pressure so that is how it is set up now. Engine is screaming along and I can pull inverted passes pulling neg g into the horizontal with cutout or faltering. Vertical stall turns and square loops are now also possible cheers from downunder. Peter
