Amazing that this thread is still going after all of this time. I'm unfortunately out of RC now, I know, sounds crazy, but I was tired of working on my car instead of driving it. I'm into sportbikes now.

My car is gathering dust. Want it? PM me. It doesn't need more than a battery pack to run again. The car is in great shape.

A lot of people have been PMing me asking for a parts list. Its been so long that I really don't remember any of it. RC-10 T2 and T3 A-arms, I think I used evader turnbuckles, but I cant be sure. Tower Hobbies lists turnbuckle lengths, so you should be able to figure it out. I never found dogbones that worked well. I would paste this into the original post but I don't see an option to edit. Moderators, can you help?

Glad to see that people are still having fun with these little trucks.

Hi guys, I have owned the ST-15 for a month now.

Have the following mods. Bearings, Proline Dirt Hawgs on all 4 corners, Upgraded the switch to one with the charge connector, and had to get the battery holder with the Futaba J connector, Tower charger for TX and RX, 700ma NiCads all around, and Tuned pipe. GT10 parts are on order.

I broke it in with Duratrax Red Alert 10%, Head temps were running around 250, seemed to be running around 30mph. Started using Blue Thunder 10% and it seemed to get another 5mph or so. Removed the exhaust deflector and got faster yet, seems to be going around 40 now. Head temps still around 250. Installed the tuned pipe, and temps shot up to about 330, and can't run through a full tank of fuel. Lengthened the pipe as far as I could, (hits tire now when I turn left) and the temps dropped down to around 310. Still vapor locking.

Went through Harry Higgly's "All about engines" book and seems that overheating is caused by too short a pipe, and 2 ways to lengthen it are physically,(no room) or by running higher nirtro content.

My question is, What nitro level are you guys running with the Tower pipe, and what temps are you getting?

When you run a tuned pipe it makes the mixture lean out. In order to bring it back you must richen the HSN.

I'm running between 280-300F with a shortened pipe vs stock and run 15% nitro.

280-300 sounds pretty hot. But you should retune the engine like ryan said. Also why run 10% nitro? Might as well got to 20% and get the extra power. And how did you lengthin the pipe? Did you just get a longer rubber peace in between the header and pipe?

You need tires first and fore most. Stock ones are barley last for brake in. Also ball bearings are always recommened. A tuned pipe and 2 spd tranny would be good to get later on. As well as teh a-arm extension to give it more stabilty.

Dirt works are good tires. I have some for my jato. Also if you want a onroad set which i would recommend if you plan on driving on road even just a little. Get the road rage II http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLN12&P=ML . You dont want to wear out dirt tires on the street too fast! As for the body i have yet to paint and mout the stock one on my truck.

And a side note about tires on teh st-15 if you get the tuned pipe and want to run moabs you have to bend the header so that the tire will not hit it!
