I had a guy up in portland make me an aluminum brace. Never had a problem it after that!

Well guys, i am giving up on my ST-15. I am tired of pouring money into it. So far i think i have put $350 into it. I am going to try to sell it for around $250-$300 and buy either an RC10GT Plus or a Losi XXX-NT Sport. I want to race (I mean drive 3 hours to the big cites to race race!), and my st-15 just isn't going to do the job. Its a good beginners car and i ain't a beginner anymore.

Anyone want to buy a nice ST-15?

Stock tires will go bald REAL quick. It will go about 35mph. If your running in the snow or mud, WATER PROOF IT REALLY GOOD!!!!!!!! Tuned pipe is a must for more power. I,m still saving for my tuned pipe.

My gf bought this truck for me for Christmas. I had a Raider Pro and then an RC-10 team buggy when I was 13-14 (about 13 years ago!) and just got back into the scene. I have enjoyed mine quite a bit. I have been running it in freezing weather which has taken its' toll on a few of the plastic parts. The stock shocks are plastic, should be aluminum. I have broken a back shock, back body post, the front piece that holds the body posts, stripped the spur gears because the engine walked, and one other item that I will get to in a minute. These crashes were very hard, nearly top speed. One crash knocked the carb off of the engine! The stock tires are HORRIBLE. The day I got the truck, I got on the web and ordered the tuned pipe, 2-speed transmission, an extra set of clutch shoes and springs (so that I could drill the one that came on it), and a few other knick-knacks. I put all of this on it immeadiately after break-in and just could not drive it at any real speed with the stock tires. I got some Pro-Lines and could not beleive the difference. If you get the tuned pipe, be conscious of how far it sticks out on the side. I have mine pulled in tight but during a bad crash, it got hit REALLY hard. The hardware that secures it to the exhaust port tore right through it. I purchased hardware about 3mm longer and used a nut on the protruding threaded end, and it took care of it. I know that is a cliche but thread lock ALL relevant hardware. Keep a close eye on the four screws that attach the motor mounts to the chassis. Mine came loose early on and roughed up a spur gear. Even after cleaning and LOTS of thread lock they backed out again. Just check it every 2-3 runs. Also don't forget to bag that exposed receiver, and put something in the battery box to keep them still.

All of this aside, I enjoy the truck tremendously, and it has really been punished. With the hop-ups it seems plenty fast, second gear adds a lot to the top end. Here are a few dingy pics.

Hey guys. I have a nitro st-15 that ive had for about 2 years but just now got it running right after a new piston and sleeve. I want to buy a tuned pipe for it sometime, and possibly a 2 speed transmission after the tuned pipe. Nice trucks guys. I will try and post some pictures of mine before too long. The truck seems to be very durable(except for chassis brace) . I ran mine into my truck tire yesterday, at almost WOT, and the only thing that happened was the air filter flew off. It is pretty quixk on the last 1/3rd of the rpm range of the motor, but is fairly slow on low end. Is there anything you all reccomend to do to it to make it have more low end? If i drill the clutch shoes some will it engage later, and come off the line harder? The truck seems ok, and i just want it to be a reliable basher, so anything you guys can suggest, i would appreciate very much. Also, if i drill out the clutches, should i just use one small hole on the end of each one or what? Only hop ups i have are proline masher 2000's on the back, yellow fuel tubing, a homemade bumper, and a fuel filter. I will eventually get it fixed up better, so ill be on this thread for a while. Come on guys, lets get it going again . These trucks really arent to bad for the money.

For about $60 more i would check out the duratrax nitro evader. This truck is alright, but you cant buy parts for it at the hobby shop, and there isnt a lot of aftermarket for it. Unless your wanting to spend quite a bit, and then you could buy something really good.

You need to get rid of those stock tires.lol I hate those things. They are as hard as plastic, and wear out so fast it will make your head spin.lol I still have the stock front tires on mine, and i am planning on some new front tires very soon. I drilled the clutches just a little tonight, but not enough to help a lot, so im going to try again sometime. Here is 1 picture i took tonight. My homemade bumper is not on in the pic, but ill get some better pictures sometime.

Notice my gas tank? I moved the gas tank to where the servo was, and i moved the servo under the radio plate. Now i can refuel through the front window cooling hole. This car is perfect. I don't think you could make an ST-15 any better. If i wasn't gonna sell it i would buy a Ford-F150 body, dish rims and an OS .12 CV-RX engine. And what do you think of my pipe? I'm gonna polish it soon. And notice how i cut the body out for the pipe? With that gas tank mod i had to put the pipe out further so i rubbed the body. I think it looks cool like that!

And j/k about your "wimpy" cars. They are pretty cool!

I seem to be broke right now and both of the servos are fried, so those come first. And I dont mind driving with baldies.

Joelacrane: didnt you say you had an aluminum chassis brace? I need something like this for mine, because my stock plastic one broke, and i think it will just break again if i replace it with a stock piece. I like your truck too.
