Yeah Mark 1 parts are extinct, and soon the Mark 2 parts will be also. I've collected almost all the spares except for the metal parts set (GP059, kyoc4581) for the Mark 2. If anybody knows how to get that part, please inform me. As for my Mark 1, since no more parts are available I'm going to leave it mint in box and unbuilt.

Stelios, one thing about the Mark 1 Suzuki w/Kevin Schwantz: Do you know if it was available in the US when it came out? I know for sure the Factory Yamaha and NSR were in the US and the Marlboro Yamaha was in Japan only, but I'm unsure where the Suzuki was released. A couple of friends claim it was Japan only also.

Ian,

I knew the Pepsi - Suzuki Mk1 it came out at least to Europe. I bought it from my LHS, then, and it was there in quantities, and was advertised in the british RC Car magazines of the era too. I m not sure if it ever made it to the USA, however.

I know also about the Marlboro Yamaha... I had mentioned it in my site, when I first started it with the bikes, back then... This is why I only have the plain YZR model, too. However, as I see, and despite the anti-smoking laws, the Rothmans Honda Mk1 was available in Rothmans livery both to Europe and America! The Mk2 was more politically correct and was named Racing Honda, instead, same as Team Lucky Strike that became Team Suzuki!

I must hunt through my paper stacks. I have detailed drawings of a 2-speed modification we did in the UK and a few other nice mods to improve the handling of the Mk1 bikes. I will pull out my bike and have a look a the possibility of creating some spare parts if people are interested.

Yes, I (and probably every Kyosho owner out there) am interested in the lexan bodies for the Mark 1 and Mark 2. These jewels are one of the most sought after modifications for Kyosho owners, and the racers in the UK seem to have many of them.

That is very true. The Lexan bodywork really knocks the weight of the bikes. That coupled with the bigger Kyosho BB motor and 600mah cells really make these little bikes fly. Just a shame no one races them now much. The 1:5th really seems to be taking off and overshadowing these machines.

I will draw up a few ideas on CAD and send them to the factory to assess.

Count me in too, please! BTW, does Team MPP have a website of sorts?! I'd love to add a link to it from my own site...

Hi,

We dont have the website online yet. Still piecing it all together. Thats the terrible thing about doing web design. You can put together a great site for someone else but when it is your own it never looks right or something. Hopefully the site will launch sometime in January. I will post the link then and we can do a link swap.
