I ventured into the larger NiMH flight pack batteries (>1000mah) and found my trusty Sirius Pro charger was not too repeatable at finding peaks anymore. Gave Peak Electronics a call and found they have an upgrade for $30 that increases the charge rate to 1000mah for both TX and RX sides and takes you up to 4000mah capacities. They quoted me a 2 day turn-around and bammm....it was back home in the same week I shipped it. Awesome! I've plugged every pack I have into the little jewel and then discharged on the Sirius Test and I am very pleased. It's appears to charge twice as fast now and NiMH's are not a problem. It gets a little warmer than it used too, but heh, time is temperature. The upgrade does raise the bar on the minimum pack size and 500mah is the lower limit now, this wasn't a problem for me.
Enjoy!
Jack

Did you just get it back, because I have been in email contact with Sirius and the guy just got out of the hospital and said it would be a week or two delay. I have been delaying sending mine in for upgrade because of that.

Last Friday I received it back. Like you, I was calling the tech help line and Jo advised me to wait until he returned. As of last week he was back in and there was mention of another tech helping too.

Is the Sirius Pro charger available new "up-spec'd" ? Anyone know? I saw one and they seem like a good peice of kit.

I'd like to get one.

I asked Peak about this and they don't at this time. You might be able to talk them into a special request however.

The up rated charger is called " Sirius Pro + ". I have one as I use 1650mah NiMH packs in every thing including my transmitters. Ordered it about two weeks before Toledo and received it in a week. Sirius chargers are the only chargers that I trust my NiMH batteries with.

Thanks for the responses Guys

I think I'll get the new Sirius. I would also entrust the care of my NiMh's to nothing else.

You think the Pro + is good, ask them about the Quad charger. It is just what the jet guys need. Will change 3 airborne batteries and a transmitter at the same time. Check it out.

P.S. When will I get mine, Peak Elect.?

Has anyone used the Sirius Pro + to charge 2 RX batteries at once? It says that TX side will handle 4 cells. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
