Kevin: Personally I think all the the engine manufactures are on a even keel. DA, BME, 3W, ZDZ, etc, etc..are all about the same. The difference in the engines they produce is how they port them and set them up. For a example DA tends to tune their engines for a very low, reliable, with the least amount of vibration, low end, then smooth power to the top. 3W tunes their engines for high top end power. It's all in the way the manufacture tunes their engines. They are all good! I can't see how these guys get on the bashing thing. I own DA, 3W and BME (so far) and they have all been great performers. On to the ZDZ60. IMO this engine is going to have a little more power then all the 'hot' 50's. Just makes sense that 10 more cc's are going to give you a bit extra power. (As Homer would say, DUH...) As for the 'Hot' 50's, what makes them hot is the fact they are re-sculptured engines that have less weight, newer and more modern cranks, pistons, rings, more porting for power, etc, etc. After break in these engines come on strong. In fact my BME50 surprised me right from the start. That thing was turning a 21x10 at 7300. I only have 3 gallons through it and it keeps getting stronger. I've only started breaking in my DA50 and so far it's very impressive also. Only to get better as it breaks in. As far as getting very technical about engines, Dick is good and so is Kris^. IMO, I think Kris^ is very well versed in all engines and his posting are worth reading. Bottom line? Go with the ZDZ60. I think it would be a gr |
