Im not happy with thunder tiger.. I have 2 TT pro .46`s and a TT gp .42 just bought !! during test bench breakin the carb screws came loose and one had fallen out ! gone !! well ive called them twice and even emailed them !! they say we will send out some new screws but this has been nearly 3 weeks now ! SCREW THUNDRER TIGER in my book ! i will stay with OS and Magnum from now on !
PS yes I know that its just a coulpe little screws but my LHS didnt have that size screw on hand so i called and they said they would send them right out !! since the LHS got the size in i needed .. that was the last Thunder Tiger I will buy ! I was very happy with the Pro .46`s but to me its the little things that make a company a good one !!

I have to go with the worst service ever was from the Futaba Service Center after it moved in with Great Planes. I sent in a radio for service and they charged me $67.00 for a transmitter battery pack that is advertised in the Tower Catalog for $35.00. I emailed them about it and they never even bothered to respond. My radios now go to Radio South and I love my new JR. I have had several contacts with Great Planes concerning missing and or broken parts and they have always been top notch in getting the parts to me at no cost. They are top notch in my opioion. Thanks Dave

I have a problem with Thunder Tiger also. I like the engines, 2 TT .36's and 2 TT .46's. But I cant get parts. Waited months for a parts to a carb. After a year of asking and waiting and even the LHS ordering, I gave up. The LHS wont carry Thunder Tiger engines anymore either. Too bad. The engines run good.

Phillybaby I just read your post and what you said does not surprise me.

I too was a bit shocked at the response I got from Just engines. I had an irvine 53 go bad on me, it lost compression due to part of the wrist pin retaining clip breaking off and shagging the piston and liner. I was prop hanging at the time and dead sticked- broke the engine and plane.

I never use any other fuel than formula Irvine sport 5 in any of my engines, which has 18% oil so crap fuel didn't kill it.

I emailed them with the problem and they just said go to Irvine, but I didn't buy it from Irvine, I bought it from just engines. I don’t know how you feel about it, but if I buy a jar of jam from Sainsburys and it's got a bug in it I take it back to Sainsburys, I don't package it up and send it off to Robertsons who made the dam jam.

I have recently bought again from just engines and when the guy on the phone asked me if I had bought from them before, I said yeah I bought an Irvine from you a couple of months ago but it died, he just laughed.

I got a couple of those ASP 52's, one was for a mate as we got new identical planes for a giggle. Broke 'em in real gentle, 15 tanks through mine and 7 through his and so far they seem great runners- quieter and more grunt than the Irvine.
Both engines inverted, his starts easy but mine is a **** to start unless right side up. It won’t prime properly inverted.

I'm a little concerned about buying a Moki from them for my capiche in a few weeks time. If it goes **** up with this more expensive engine I'll probably be getting a boat to Hungary. That'll seriously put a hole in my flying time.

Strange, when you get a West 50 from Weston and the few circlips that have jumped ship do come out you get a new one right away.
i think if you look through the JE site you find that THEY are responsible for repairs and servicing, i'm sure it says that somewhere.
I dont care what people say, some problems are not fuel related, circlips jumping ship can happen to any engine that uses them, fact of life, i had an Irvine go too, was sent back to Irvine ( as thats where it came from not a shop ) and i got a shiny new one back.
I think JE might stand by their Mokis as it's a more expensive engine, but kicking up stink can't hurt. i wonder whats happening coz JE used to have no customer complaints at all.
