Picked up mine today from Tom, and All I can say is WOW!! This is a great looking ARF can't wait to start putting it together. Everything looks very well constructed and the covering job is great. I went with the upgrade landing gear and wing tube much lighter than the original, but I think it would be fine with the original parts. Going to put a BME 50 up front and was planing to use Futaba 9202 servos on the elevators and ailerons and a digital on the rudder. I used this setup on a midwest 27% extra and it worked fine. But I am not sure the 9202's will be enough on this plane. Any comments on servo choice for this bird.

Keep us posted slowfly, mine will be here in January ( missed getting one of the December shippment ones was late on ordering it. ) , Looks like a great plane and Tom and his staff have been great to deal with. If the plane is 1/100th as good as the service Wildhare is serving up to it's customers it should be a real winner. Pictures, procedures and progress, let's see and hear about it.

I have decided on the Hitec 5945's for the aileron and elevator; and the new JR8611 for the rudder. These servos exceed the manufacturers torque specs in standard size servos. $500 worth of servos, but then I will have them for all time, so probably worth the cost. These servos will be running into a Futaba 9c and Rx with an MPI #5720 dual battery and switch setup and another MPI #5720 switch/battery running the DA50 ignition.

The Hitec 5625 or 5645 are plenty for this plane, but the 5945 or 5925 are even better although not needed for this one.

I use both on several different planes and have had good luck with them.

The 56x5s are adequate in strength and speed, but are not as good as the 59x5 series for centering. This is the biggest difference between the economy digitals and the high dollar coreless servos.

JR and FUTABA both have new servos that are a bit bigger than standard size, weigh just over 2 oz and deliver more than 260 in oz on 6v......This would be a good choice for the rudder to obtain great torque and save weight. This would be enough for all out 3D stuff

Teh Futaba 9202 on six volts should meet the control surface minimums.

Got mine today at lunch guys. It is everything tom said it would be. I wanted to thank tom and his company for putting up with us. I can only imagine the phone calls and headaches he went through.
I got my DA 50 about a week ago with slimline pitts smoke muffler. I am gonna try slimlines new showtime pro smoke pump. It has a programmable variable smoke pump motor. I hope it makes alot of smoke.
I will also run 5945's on ailerons and elevators. I decided to go with the new JR 8611 on the rudder.
I orderd the graphtec carbon fibre tail wheel assm. Dave Brown 3.5" Vortec Spinner. I will use all carbon fibre pushrods w/titanium ends from central hobbies. I also bought the upgrade kit from tom on the landing gear and wing tube assembly. You gotta see thel original landing gear......IT IS HUGE AND THICK. a lil heavy.....but would take one hell of crash to bend that landing gear.

I was gonna upload some pics but slow fly has beat me to it. Maybe I can temporarily assemble it all together and take a couple of shots.

OK... OK... I'm in. Just ordered mine. I don't need it but I can't resist a GREAT deal. Problem is, it won't ship until Jan.. Dec stock is sold out!

I'll just sit here and twiddle my thumbs until Jan. I reckon. Oh wait... I'll go put together the Funtana. That oughta entertain me for a day or two anyway! LOL

Slowfly, that is just down right mean!!! Posting pictures like that. It is akin to the Playboy pictures, showing something we all want but don't have.
Keep us posted, when mine gets here in Jan. I'll need to know all the dos' and do nots'.
