heck, after being orderly for 81 years, I deserve disaray. I think I know where everything is supposed to be, anyhow it keeps me busy looking for that little item. Nadine, keeps asking me when I'm going to finally retire? what for?- I'm enjoying myself and its cheaper than the local bar and the gals aren't interested in me or my money anymore. dick

I guess you retired folks need something to pass your time. Besides, trying to find an orderly place for all that would require one of those Reality TV shows to come in and build you a new 11,000 Sq. ft. shop. I wish I could retire. I still have a loooooong ways to go before that happens!

it ain't funny its true. I know 2 fellows who collect stuff-- that is according to me-- like postage stamps, books full and he knows each and every one and is value. SELL ?? heck no--I'm a collector. other one, old baseball cards, sell? not me I'm a collector!!. me? Nadine publically states that she is married to a junk man. SOOO to each his OWN and have fun doing it. Nadine and the children will make the ultimate decesion. just don't think of having to move. believe me its rough. dick

Love those pictures of tools and parts in dozens of places!
Got a sign over my desk: NOT DISORGANIZED ... JUST FLEXIBLE

Just looked for it, the sign, it missing from usual place..... it will turn up somewhere below last location. Shop 1300sf is marginally better.

Well I just moved into my new place and it needs a ton of work before I'm ever able to do a thing on my planes. Here's my shop as of 8-27-05. A real mess and it really sucks.
BUT NOT FOR LONG.....

Mirror that photo and it could pass as a photo of my garage.

I've made some progress in turning my garage into a workshop. Here are two photos of the current state of progress.

I just finished building the cabinets from scratch. Made some of them extra wide to hold kits. I plan on adding upper cabinets above the base cabinets, and I may add more base cabinets on the third wall. I haven't decided on how to handle the ceiling. I'm considering 3 options, sheet rock the rafters, add more joists and sheet rock the ceiling, or add a drop down ceiling.
