Sorry guys about the title ... had a "funny" streak go thru me for an instant !
ANyway ... well , went out yesterday with plans on running on the ice out at the lake ...
Decided first to run her on the snow covered ground to make sure all was fine ( basically a "test" run if you will ).
Got her going , she was doing fine ( a little WIDE on the turns though ) and then started giving her MORE gas ( was only running about half throttle - in case something happened whereas I had to maybe run after her ? Getting a little old to run TOO fast ----- )
So, getting back ... I then decided it was time to give her more throttle . Well , I did , and MAN did she start HAULING donkey butt ... She was just a scooting along there ... no worries , I though -----
The after making a few rounds in the field area I was running , I decided it was time to give her FULL throttle on a straight to see how fast she could and would go , on snow covered ground . MAN , she was FLYING ( not literally of course ) ... then , out of the clear blue , she did a 3 foot jump into the air ( hit something ) ... here , she was ok ... nothing happened , BUT , on the downfall , she hit ANOTHER clump of crap ( dirt and ice is what it appeared to be , AFTER the crash investigation ! AND the WORST part - those TWO piles of ??? seemed to be the ONLY two clumps of ?? out there ! I could NOT find ANY more ! ) , then after coming down , she hits the front section ( about a foot back from the front ) , that pile of whatever went RIGHT THRU the bottom . She kind of "grabbed" when it did , and THEN decided to do a "few" head over heels , flips ... well , there went my pusher prop , busting into a ka-zillion pieces ( oh , no ... thats DEFINATELY not ALL ) .
Then there goes ALL my aluminum , ,my motor mounts , and believe it or not ... my fuel tank EVEN managed to get punctured somehow ( she is TOTALLY encased within the hull with ONLY the fill cap exposed ! ) .
So ... the moral of the story is -- What you CAN't see , CAN hurt you ( or , actually , your boat )-
( think I should have JUST ran her on the ice .... )
Well , looks like back to the work bench and do a LOT of repairs !

But , as the saying goes .
"she may be down , but she's sure not out , ( not yet anyway ) "
I do this for FUN ....
Does it upset me when something like this happens ....
Yep , you betcha ! But , I will never let a thing like this ruin my day . FUN and SAFETY is what this hobby/sport is all about and MAN ... do I have FUN ! ( and of course the safety is always there too )
So , I just pick up the pieces , take them home, salvage what I can , and REBUILD ....
But , it just gives cause to make her better than before .
Had a homemade woodie water , prop driven boat that had seem better days , BUT , she too , has survived and lived to run another day
She EVEN went OVER a 15 foot water falls at FULL bore and dove straight down , into the mud at the bottom of the falls ( at the waters edge down below ) ( fault due to a crappy ole' VENOM failsafe that NEVER worked and can now be located at the bottom of Lake Oelwein right near the falls )
heres a pic of her flying along -- ( as you can see in the pictures , she likes to stay on TOP of the water .... not very much wet area on her )

I myself would never have come up with an idea like this to convince my wife I needed to build a new boat.

But then, I would't hesitate to sneek parts and materials into the shop when she wasn't looking.........

Status: offline 		FTR - the post immediately above this one is done from a jerk that also thinks he is a hacker that is also on JIMS BOAT DOCK and thinks he swift .
I obviosly must be threat or something to him , since he likes to try and harrass me all the time .
The moderators HAVE been notified about this .
